Valhalla Animal Hospital in Valhalla, NY is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities and focuses on hands-on patient care, surgical assistance, and client communication.

We value reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced clinic. Pay ranges from $22–$23 per hour with benefits and opportunities for growth; prior experience is preferred but not required for motivated candidates pursuing LVT

Qualificações

• 1–2 years of veterinary experience preferred.
• Experience assisting with blood draws, IV catheter placement, and surgical procedures is a plus.
• Candidates enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program or pursuing LVT credentials encouraged to apply.
• Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong attention to detail for treatments, medications, and monitoring.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Ability to stay organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Responsabilidades

• Safely restrain dogs and cats for exams and procedures.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and medical procedures.
• Provide hands-on treatment support, including blood draws and IV catheter placement.
• Assist with surgical preparation, monitoring, and post-operative care.
• Monitor patients and report changes to the veterinary team.
• Support pharmacy operations and medication labeling.
• Educate clients on basic pet care and maintain a clean, safe clinic environment.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
