The Pet Doctor in Lakewood, WA is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our small-animal practice. You’ll work alongside veterinarians and technicians to provide compassionate patient care and help keep the hospital organized and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Safely restraining animals for examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Preparing exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites.
• Monitoring hospitalized patients.
• Assisting with basic patient care.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples as directed.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment notes.
• Sterilizing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.
• Communicating professionally with pet owners.
• Assisting with client education.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient clinic environment.
• Supporting teammates as patient-care needs change throughout the day.
• Contributing to a positive and collaborative hospital environment.
