Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the safety and comfort of pets and clients. You will participate in daily hospital operations, educate clients about preventive care, and contribute to a collaborative care environment that emphasizes high standards of service.

Ideal candidates have NAVTA-certified credentials, a strong commitment to pet health, and the ability to mentor others while maintaining a clean, safe hospital

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians; ensure the safety of pets, clients and other associates.
• Maintain workflow and flow of patients through the hospital.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs during procedures.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
