Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care. You will engage with clients to educate them on preventive care and wellness plans, and help maintain a smooth flow of patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

You’ll be trained on NAVTA guidelines and hospital protocols, with opportunities for growth and professional development within Banfield’s veterinary network.

Qualifications

• Certificate NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure pet safety and quality care.
• Maintain patient flow and communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans.
• Mentor other team members and uphold hospital standards.
