Job summary

Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic – WellHaven Pet Health in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients, and help maintain top-quality care for pets in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will assist in surgery, dentistry, lab work, and routine care, handle basic reception duties, manage medical records, and engage with clients to discuss Wellness Plans. Onsite work with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of experience in the veterinary industry.
• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgery, dentistry, laboratory procedures, venipuncture per protocols.
• Maintain medical charting and hospital records.
• Educate clients about Wellness Plans and pet care.
• Perform select reception duties: calls, appointments, intake, discharge.
• Support inventory and hospital supplies.
• Ensure all duties are completed before shift end.
• Advocate for hospital success and performance.
• Provide outstanding customer service to clients.
