Job summary

Banfield is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the safety of pets and people and the continuity of quality care. The role emphasizes assisting, educating clients, and maintaining clean, organized exam rooms and labs.

We look for NAVTA-trained candidates who can maintain patient flow, communicate well with the team, and mentor other staff while upholding Banfield’s Five Principles and preventive care standards.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved program completion or equivalent education/experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform required assistant skills to aid in practice efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care
• Mentor other members of the hospital team
