Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and staff while maintaining high-quality care.

You will perform NAVTA-aligned tasks under state practice acts, assist with patient flow, and educate clients about preventive care and our Optimum Wellness Plans®. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication and a commitment to the hospital's Five Principles.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program certificate or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Set up or carry out procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and areas clean.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other hospital team members.
