Qualifications

• Weekend work availability is required.
• Minimum of 2 years veterinary assistant experience.
• Lifts up to 25 pounds; ability to lift with assistance beyond 25 pounds.
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including PPE.
• Basic math for medication dosages.
• Basic computer skills with MS Office.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and manage routine in-house lab work.
• Educate clients regarding veterinary care and procedures.
• Assist with surgical procedures as needed.
• Maintain inventory and prepare prescriptions.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams.
• Ensure clean exam rooms and restock supplies.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team members about patient plans and concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
