Imperial Animal Hospital in Imperial, MO is seeking a veterinary assistant who plays a pivotal role in daily clinic operations. You will support veterinarians and technicians, greet clients, and help with exams, labs, and patient care.

You will contribute to inventory, medical records, and maintaining a clean, organized care environment while working closely with the hospital team to provide compassionate veterinary services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• On-the-job training desirable, but not required.
• Previous animal care background desirable, but not required.
• Minimum of 18 years old.
• Excellent client communication skills.
• Capable of lifting, restraining animals up to 40 lbs with assistance.
• Able to work in a team and maintain a clean, orderly facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians throughout the day.
• Explain to clients the importance of procedures like dental cleanings.
• Help fill scripts, prep exam rooms, and set up lab work.
• Assist with inventory and update medical records.
• Aid in nursing care and husbandry of hospitalized animals.
• Position for and take radiographs when needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized facility and test results documentation.
