Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners is seeking a veterinary assistant to support exam rooms, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows. You will assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry, and provide safe patient handling throughout procedures.

You will prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas, maintain medical records, and clearly communicate discharge instructions to clients.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred.
• Safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes.
• Ability to obtain patient histories, TPR, weight, and assist with exams and procedures.
• Experience with restraint, oral meds, exam notes, and client communication/education.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and precise medical records documentation.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills; dependable team player.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and dentistry.
• Provide safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments.
