Job summary

West Lafayette Veterinary Care is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians with patient care, monitor hospitalized pets, and educate clients. The role includes preparing prescriptions, performing routine in‑house lab work, and assisting with surgeries.

You will handle radiographs, restrain animals during exams, manage medications and treatments as directed, and keep treatment and lab areas organized.

Qualifications

• Weekend work availability as required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vitals, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor post‑op vital signs.
