Job summary

Lansdowne Animal Hospital in Leesburg, VA, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exams and outpatient visits with compassionate, high-quality care.

We value an outgoing, client-focused professional skilled in exam room management, patient records, and phlebotomy. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule, 4x10 or 5x8 shifts, Monday–Friday with rotating weekend availability and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining weights and vitals preferred
• Phlebotomy and SQ injections
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocols

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Support veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care
• Build positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service
