Lansdowne Animal Hospital in Leesburg, VA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exams and outpatient visits, ensuring compassionate care and client-focused service.

You will help manage exam rooms, maintain medical records, and assist veterinarians during procedures, with opportunities to grow into a full-time role and occasional front desk support. This role emphasizes strong communication, reliability, and dedication to high-quality patient care in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes.
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures.
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining weights and vital signs preferred.
• Phlebotomy and SQ injections.
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care.
• Maintain accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately.
• Support veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care.
• Build positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service.
