Job summary

VCA City Cats Hospital in Arlington, MA is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our feline-exclusive, full-time team.

We are a busy 6-doctor hospital offering wellness exams, diagnostics, surgery assistance, radiology, dentistry, and boarding for cats.

You will work with CVTs, RVTs, or LVTs, providing compassionate patient care, client education, and accurate medical recordkeeping in a supportive, growth‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary assistant or CVT/RVT/LVT credentialed is preferred.
• Able to work full-time with weekend rotation in a feline-only practice.
• Strong client communication and meticulous recordkeeping are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care and monitoring during visits.
• Assist with anesthesia, surgeries, radiology and dentistry procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement and sample collection.
• Maintain accurate medical records and client education.
• Support boarding operations and cat care as needed.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality patient experiences.

We are a busy 6-doctor full service feline exclusive veterinary hospital open 6 days a week. We provide top quality veterinary services including wellness exams, preventative care, vaccines, diagnostic services, surgical procedures, spays, neuters, dental procedures and mass removals. VCA City Cats is also a boarding facility with overnight accommodations available for cats.

Compensation

Is $20.00 - $29.00 / hour based on skill set, experience, and licensure status.

Schedule

Full time, weekend rotation required.
