VCA Pleasant Bay Animal Hospital in Harwich, MA is seeking a full-time, experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a 4-doctor, full-service hospital serving Cape Cod communities with a commitment to compassionate patient care.

As a member of the VCA family, you will support exams, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, client communication, and comprehensive patient care in a busy practice with strong teamwork and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or technician in training.
• Experience in a full-service veterinary hospital preferred.
• Ability to assist with examinations, anesthesia, radiology and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations, patient assessment, and recovery.
• Assist with procedural anesthesia and monitoring.
• Administer IV fluids and calculate CRI.
• Hands-free radiology and diagnostic imaging support.
• Communicate with clients and discharge instructions.

We have been serving pets and their people in the communities of Harwich, Chatham, Brewster, Dennis, Orleans, as well as other areas of the lower cape, since 1975. Our Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary hospital, that provides top quality medical services, bathing, wellness exams, preventative care, including vaccines, diagnostic services, spays, neuters, dental procedures, digital radiography including dental radiography, and advanced surgical orthopedic services

Compensation

$20 - $25 / hr based on skill set, experience, and licensure status

Potential Schedule

Full Time, Tuesday thru Saturday.

Whether you are a credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or technician in training, we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

Veterinary Technician Duties Include

• Physical examinations, patient assessment, and recovery
• Procedural anesthesia and monitoring
• IV fluid administration and CRI calculations
• Hands Free Radiology and diagnostic imaging
• Client communications and discharge
