Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health’s VSH Roseville is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant for emergency care. You will work with experienced clinicians to triage, support, and treat critically ill or injured patients in a fast-paced setting.

Join a collaborative team and contribute to advanced emergency and specialty care across Northern California. Weekend differential applies, and growth through mentorship and continuous learning is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in an animal hospital.
• Proficiency with laboratory sample processing and basic radiographic techniques.
• Strong technical nursing skills, including patient handling and restraint.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming emergency patients and support clients throughout their hospital experience.
• Assist veterinarians with patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.
• Operate and assist with diagnostic imaging for patient evaluation.
• Administer, monitor, and recover patients undergoing sedation and anesthesia.
• Assist with minor surgical (non-specialty) procedures.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
