Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospitals is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high‑quality care. You will educate clients on pet health topics, maintain medical records, and assist with procedures while ensuring a safe hospital environment.

The role requires NAVTA‑recognized training, a high school diploma, and the ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting. Weekend/evening hours may be required per hospital needs.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must perform NAVTA skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform radiography duties; one year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure quality pet care.
• Communicate with veterinarians, technicians and staff to maintain patient flow.
• Educate clients about wellness plans, preventive care and hospital services.
• Obtain client history and maintain complete medical charts.
• Assist with surgery and monitor hospitalized or post‑op pets as allowed by state acts.
