Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality pet care. You will assist with procedures, educate clients on wellness plans, and maintain medical records while upholding safety and cleanliness standards.

The role requires NAVTA-certified training or equivalent, a high school diploma (preferred), and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program completion or equivalent
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year related experience preferred
• Must be 18+ for radiography duties
• Fluent English communication and basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Live by the Five Principles and support veterinary staff
• Assist veterinarians and technicians to maximize productivity
• Provide professional, efficient service and prepare procedures as needed
• Educate clients on wellness plans and preventive care
• Obtain client history and maintain medical charts
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in treatment areas
• Assist with surgery as applicable
• Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital
• Perform other duties as assigned
