Job summary

Garden State Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join a dynamic, collaborative team at our Eatontown, NJ location. Expect working with licensed technicians, emergency doctors and specialists in a fast-paced setting.

You will provide support, restrain patients, prepare samples, monitor vital signs, assist with radiographs, and maintain equipment while learning advanced skills and routines. Compensation is hourly with benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary experience is required.
• Willingness to work varied hours and schedules.
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to doctors and technicians.
• Restrain patients for exams and procedures.
• Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing.
• Monitor and document patient’s vital signs.
• Assist with obtaining radiographs.
• Properly use and maintain hospital equipment.
• Learn medical math calculations and nursing care basics.
• Administer medications and assist with procedures.
