Lowell Road Veterinary Center in Hudson, NH is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our multi-doctor team. You will support veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-quality care, with duties spanning clinical tasks, client communication, and patient handling.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience, is comfortable with restraints, lab work, and procedures, and can work some weekends. We offer comprehensive benefits and a competitive pay range of $18-$24 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Veterinary Assistant experience required.
• Confident in restraint, lab work, and assisting with procedures.
• Weekend availability is required (some shifts).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong multitasking and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with preventative care, surgical support, and clinic flow.
• Bonus: Proficient in lab processing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Team-player mentality and willingness to support wherever needed.
• Self-starter attitude with a desire to keep learning and growing.
• Receptiveness to constructive feedback and dedication to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Safely restrain pets using low-stress techniques.
• Triage and intake of incoming patients.
• Collect lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.).
• Assist with radiographs and diagnostic imaging.
• Administer medications and monitor patients.
• Support nursing care for hospitalized and medical cases.
• Prepare patients and instruments for surgery; assist in procedures.
• Monitor patients under anesthesia.
• Communicate treatment plans and updates to clients with compassion and clarity.
• Must be comfortable with exposure to strong odors, loud noises, animal waste, bites, scratches, and potentially contagious conditions.
