Lowell Road Veterinary Center in Hudson, NH is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate team. You will support veterinarians and technicians with a range of clinical tasks, client communication, and patient handling.

Requirements include at least 2 years of Veterinary Assistant experience, strong restraint and lab skills, weekend availability, excellent communication, and a team player mindset. Compensation ranges from $18 to $24 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Veterinary Assistant.
• Confident in restraint, lab work, and assisting with procedures.
• Weekend availability (some shifts).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong multitasking and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with preventative care, surgical support, and clinic flow.
• Bonus: proficiency in lab processing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Team-player mentality and willingness to support wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively restraining pets using low-stress techniques
• Triage and intake of incoming patients
• Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)
• Assisting with radiographs and diagnostic imaging
• Administering medications and monitoring patients
• Supporting nursing care for hospitalized and medical cases
• Preparing patients and instruments for surgery; assisting in procedures
• Monitoring patients under anesthesia
• Communicating treatment plans and updates to clients with compassion and clarity
• Must be comfortable with exposure to strong odors, loud noises, animal waste, bites, scratches, and potentially contagious conditions

Lowell Road Veterinary Center is a state of the art, multi-doctor veterinary hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Hudson, New Hampshire. We understand all the different ways your pet communicates love and trust. Our hospital offers many services including annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in-house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, rehabilitation services, and acupuncture. We are ready with a positive, experienced support staff and excellent clientele and well equipped with ultrasound, underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and a complete in-house laboratory. We also have our sister hospital 25 minutes down the road in Bedford, New Hampshire, Bedford Veterinary Medical Center.

About the Role
