Job summary

Lowell Road Veterinary Center in Hudson, NH is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our multi-doctor team. You will support veterinarians, technicians, and clients with a mix of clinical tasks, patient handling, and effective communication. Weekend shifts may be required. Excellent teamwork and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant (required).
  • Confidence in restraint, lab work, and assisting with procedures.
  • Weekend availability (some shifts).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong multitasking ability and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with preventative care, surgical support, and clinic flow.
  • Bonus: Proficient in lab processing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring.

Responsibilities

Job description

Lowell Road Veterinary Center is a state of the art, multi-doctor veterinary hospital that offers personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Hudson, New Hampshire. We understand all the different ways your pet communicates love and trust. Our hospital offers many services including annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in-house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, rehabilitation services, and acupuncture. We are ready with a positive, experienced support staff and excellent clientele and well equipped with ultrasound, underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and a complete in-house laboratory. We also have our sister hospital 25 minutes down the road in Bedford, New Hampshire, Bedford Veterinary Medical Center.

About the Role:

As an Experienced Veterinary Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of our medical team, supporting veterinarians and technicians in delivering top-quality care to patients with a wide range of needs. Your day will include a mix of clinical tasks, client communication, and patient handling.

Primary responsibilities include:

Safely and effectively restraining pets using low-stress techniques

Triage and intake of incoming patients

Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)

Assisting with radiographs and diagnostic imaging

Administering medications and monitoring patients

Supporting nursing care for hospitalized and medical cases
