Job summary
Lowell Road Veterinary Center in Hudson, NH is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets. Your day will include clinical tasks, client communication, and patient handling in a busy, multi-doctor practice.
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience, strong restraint and lab skills, and excellent communication.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of Veterinary Assistant experience.
- Confident in restraint, lab work and assisting with procedures.
- Weekend availability for some shifts.
- Excellent communication and customer service with strong multitasking.
- Familiar with preventative care, surgical support, and clinic flow.
- Proficient in lab processing, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a plus.
- Team player with willingness to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Safely restrain pets using low-stress techniques.
- Triage and intake of patients.
- Collect lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.).
- Assist with radiographs and diagnostic imaging.
- Administer medications and monitor patients.
- Support nursing care for hospitalized/medical cases.
- Prepare patients and instruments for surgery; assist in procedures.
- Monitor patients under anesthesia.
- Communicate treatment plans and updates to clients with compassion and clarity.
