Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Western Carolina Regional Animal Hospital in Flat Rock, North Carolina, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, including equipment cleaning, patient grooming, surgical prep, restraint, and clerical work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two or more years' experience in a veterinary environment preferred.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet patients and their owners as they arrive and guide them to an examining room, recording weight and vital signs.
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed staff.
• Calm and soothe anxious patients.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medication administration and patient restraint.
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and ensure proper record-keeping.
