Nonantum Veterinary Clinic in Landenberg, PA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support the veterinarian during exams, diagnostics, and treatments while delivering compassionate care to patients and clients.

You will assist with procedures, manage medical records, educate clients on care plans, and help maintain a clean, well-organized hospital environment while working a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer proficiency, including practice management software and Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience working with animals preferred; veterinary or animal care background strongly valued.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals up to 130 pounds.
• Maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
• Flexible scheduling and ability to work during all hours the practice is open.

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate, professional care to patients and clients.
• Communicates with clients, doctors, and team members; answers phones and routes inquiries.
• Assists veterinarian during exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Restrains animals using low-stress handling techniques.
• Administers medications, vaccines, and collects lab samples as directed.
• Creates and updates treatment plans in the medical record system.
• Educates clients on vaccines, meds, and care plans.
• Maintains accurate patient information and records.
• Manages charges and assists with client check-out.
