Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support Vetco Total Care patients and clients with kindness and professionalism. You will assist veterinarians, document patient histories in the EMR, and help ensure a smooth hospital workflow.

Responsibilities include assisting with surgeries and procedures, taking vital signs, administering medications under supervision, and maintaining a clean, organized hospital environment. A team-oriented, compassionate approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Compassionate, empathetic, and professional demeanor under stress.
• Must have telephone and computer skills and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, take weight and vital signs, and document in EMR.
• Assist doctors with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Perform patient restraint, collect samples, and dispense medications as directed.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, and maintain patient records.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist during anesthesia and recovery.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and maintain clean, safe patient care areas.
• Support training of new staff and help keep the hospital organized.
