Animal General – CT in Avon, CT is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians. You will clean and maintain equipment, prepare surgery suites, restrain and handle patients, and assist with clerical duties.

The practice emphasizes a culture of care and a collaborative team environment. The role requires at least 3 years of veterinary assistant experience, a minimum age of 18, and a schedule Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm with full-time commitment.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners, take weight and vital signs on arrival
• Assist DVMs and technicians with medications and patient restraint
• Perform lab tests and radiographs as directed
• Maintain hospital equipment and clean facilities daily
• Document medical records accurately and securely
• Educate clients about wellness plans and insurance options
• Promote hospital products and services to clients
