Job summary

Wallis Annenberg PetSpace in Los Angeles is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support the medical team at the PetSpace Health Center and assist with offsite community vaccine clinics, client education, and routine preventative care for all animals.

You will work closely with veterinarians and RVTs to handle intake, vaccines, exams, anesthesia prep, and post-clinic activities while maintaining clean, organized hospital and clinic environments.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a veterinary, animal shelter, or animal care setting preferred
• Experience assisting with animal restraint, patient care, treatments, and routine veterinary procedures preferred
• Experience preparing and administering medications as directed by a veterinarian preferred
• Experience assisting with blood collection, laboratory procedures, and intravenous catheter placement preferred
• Ability to maintain accurate medical and inventory records

Responsibilities

• Support intake, examinations, vaccines, dewormers, and in-house diagnostics under veterinary supervision
• Assist with packing, sterilizing instruments and preparing animals for procedures
• Support with spay/neuter and other surgical procedures as directed
• Assist with patient care, monitoring vital signs, and post-surgical cleanup
• Participate in on-site and off-site vaccine clinics and community outreach events
• Provide patient and client education and ensure proper documentation of medical records
• Track medications, vaccines, and inventory and assist with clinic setup/breakdown
