Job summary

National Veterinary Associates, Inc. is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support the team in patient care, treatment, and daily hospital operations.

The role involves assisting with patient care, monitoring hospitalized animals, restraining during procedures, and maintaining clean, organized treatment areas to ensure best practices in animal care. The position requires 18+ years old, ability to multitask, and physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to multitask and work as a team.
• Willingness to lift up to 40 lbs and restrain animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and aid after surgery.
• Maintain inventory and stocking.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Assist with routine diagnostic tests (radiographs, bloodwork, fecal).
• Sterilize and prepare surgical instruments/equipment.
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas.
• Administer medications under veterinarian or vet tech supervision.
• Feed and bathe animals.
• Answer phones and help clients with their pets.
