NVA General Practice in the United States (Illinois) seeks a veterinary assistant to support the team in delivering excellent client and patient care. You will assist with patient care, monitor hospitalized animals, restrain during procedures, and assist with routine diagnostic tests to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can handle stressed/ill animals.
• Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
• Able to lift 40 lbs and restrain animals with assistance.
• Walks/stands for long periods; comfortable in bent/squat positions.
• Teamwork with hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and post-surgery care.
• Maintain inventory and stocking.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Assist with diagnostic tests (radiographs, bloodwork, fecal).
• Sterilize surgical instruments and clean areas.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Answer phones and provide customer service.
• Help clients with their pets.
