Paws & Claws Animal Hospital in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our full-service practice. You will assist with restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, nursing care, medications, and client communication to support medical, surgical and dental care for a variety of animals, including exotic pets and wildlife.

The veterinarians at Paws & Claws Animal Hospital, Dr. Sam Smith, Dr. Stephen Anderson, Dr. Kelsey Weingartner, and Dr. Katie Alewel all have a combined total of more than four decades of veterinary medical experience, and they have all the knowledge and expertise necessary to give your precious pets the quality medical care they need and deserve! Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Pay Range:$15-$19/hr based on experience
