VETERINARY VILLAGE OF LOMIRA seeks compassionate Veterinary Assistants to support our growing team in Lomira, Wisconsin. The role offers a path toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Assistant through our tuition reimbursement program and a commitment to high-quality animal care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas.
  • Restrain pets safely.
  • Assist in reception area.
  • Obtain medical history at appointments.
  • Educate clients about pet care.
  • Set up lab procedures (fecal tests, heartworm tests, cytology, urinalysis, cultures).
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures (radiographs, ultrasound).
  • Support other areas as needed.

Our clinic specializes in dog and cat wellness and prevention, surgeries, reproduction, chiropractic techniques, laser therapy and more. We utilize low-stress handling, Fear Free principles with our patients. We have lab technology on site that allows us to see test results quickly and make health decisions/treatments based on those results.

  • Can support and participate in a team approach to work; works well with all levels of hospital team members

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas in accordance with clinic standards
  • Effectively restrain pets
  • Assist in reception area
  • Obtain medical history at appointments
  • Client education
  • Set up clinical laboratory procedures such as fecal floatation exams, heartworm tests, skin scrapings, urinalysis, ear cytology and fungal cultures
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures (radiographs, ultrasound, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned including assisting in other areas
