Job summary

Vetcor in Kiel, Wisconsin seeks a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will provide high‑quality nursing care, assist with exams, diagnostics, and procedures, and educate clients on preventive care.

Qualifications

  • Must hold CVT/RVT/LVT or be eligible for Wisconsin credentialing.
  • Two+ years of small animal clinical experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and client education skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care and venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection.
  • Perform laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
  • Take radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgical procedures and monitor anesthesia.
  • Educate clients about preventive care and postoperative instructions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure clean, stocked areas.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to maintain daily workflow.

What Our Veterinary Technicians/Assistants Do
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection
  • Run and assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing
  • Take high-quality radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals throughout procedures and recovery
  • Assist with dental procedures
  • Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments as directed
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and provide supportive nursing care
  • Educate clients about preventive care, medications, treatment plans, and postoperative instructions
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using compassionate techniques
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and patient‑care areas
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to maintain an efficient daily workflow
What You’ll Bring
  • Certified Veterinary Technician candidates should hold a current CVT, RVT, or LVT credential or be eligible for credentialing in Wisconsin
  • Experienced Veterinary Assistant candidates should have strong hands‑on veterinary technical experience
  • Two or more years of small animal clinical experience preferred
  • Confidence with patient handling and restraint
  • Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring skills preferred
  • Dental experience preferred
