Job summary

Urban Animal seeks a Veterinary Assistant to join our two busy walk-in clinics. You will take vital signs, present treatment estimates, and assist with exams, vaccinations, radiographs, lab work, and medication handling.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and history for exams.
• Create and present estimates to clients.
• Safely restrain cats and dogs for exams, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Take radiographs with proper positioning and technique.
• Prepare and submit laboratory samples.
• Draw up and administer vaccines, SQ or IM injections, and SQ fluids.
• Perform ear cleaning and medicating, nail trims, anal gland expression.
• Print prescription labels and fill medications.
• Assist in surgery and treatment areas.

Based on experience and job-leveling

• Medical insurance including vision and dental, with a paid portion of monthly benefits by Urban Animal.
• Paid Time Off (PTO) - three weeks equal to hours worked per week, based on job classification.
