Rockland Animal Hospital, part of the Vetcor family, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Rockland, ME. This full-time role features a four-day schedule with Tuesdays off, allowing a balanced lifestyle while delivering compassionate care to companion animals.

The position emphasizes clinical support, client communication, and ongoing professional growth within a collaborative hospital environment. Compensation is negotiable and experience-based.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Obtain patient histories and communicate important information to the medical team.
• Assist with treatments, medication administration, and daily patient care.
• Educate clients about preventive care, medications, and treatment plans.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital and boarding environment.
• Properly restrain patients using compassionate handling techniques.
• Assist with laboratory sample collection and diagnostic testing.
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and teammates to deliver exceptional patient care.
