Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy (venipuncture and IV catheter placement).
• Assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures.
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining weights and vital signs preferred.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service.

Responsibilities

We are seeking dependable, motivated candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, anticipate team needs, communicate professionally, and take pride in delivering exceptional support throughout every stage of the patient visit.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $18 - $21 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with availability needed Monday-Friday, and rotating Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 2+ years of veterinary assistant role experience
• Proficiency in the following skills:
• Proficiency in phlebotomy (venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement)
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service

The Animal Medical Center of Troy is a two-doctor small animal clinic that provides a range of services, including general wellness, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, behavioral consultations, and more! Our clients are dedicated to their pets, providing a diverse and varied case load, and our support staff is skilled, friendly, and includes multiple LVTs. The AMCTroy team is committed to client education and ensuring our clients understand the “why” behind procedures. Our doctors are flexible with their scheduling needs and are well-equipped with digital radiology, CO2 laser, ultrasound, and more.

Pay Range

$18 - $21 USD
