Veterinary Assistant

Aspen Animal Wellness is hiring a full-time Vet Assistant to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and dedicated support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. As part of our team, you'll be supported both professionally and personally with:

Salary: $18-$21/hr, depending on experience and skillset.

Schedule: Full-time hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 7:15 am - 5:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under veterinary supervision.
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
• Clean and maintain the clinic environment, including stocking supplies and ensuring safety and sanitation.
• Greet clients and pets, complete appointment sign-in, confirm details, and escort to exam rooms.
• Handle service and product sales, process payments, and schedule future appointments.
• Respond to client inquiries via phone and make outbound calls for reminders and follow-ups.
