Position Description

Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities

1. Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure quality pet care.
2. Educate clients about pet health, preventive care, and hospital services.
3. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized hospital environment.
4. Assist with surgeries and procedures within state practice acts.
5. Mentor other paraprofessionals and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 18 years old for radiography duties.
• One year of related experience preferred.

Skills and Attributes

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable around various pets and able to perform physical tasks.

Work Conditions

Part-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and evenings. Must be able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a moderately noisy environment.
