Veterinary Assistant – VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital

Are you a Skilled Veterinary Assistant with a passion for animal care and a positive, team-oriented attitude? VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant (minimum 2 years of veterinary experience required) to join our energetic team!

VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital is a large three-doctor practice offering a full range of services under one roof—including grooming, boarding, and advanced veterinary care.

Schedule & Pay

• Hours: Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, Saturday 7:30 AM–2:00 PM
• Closed Sundays (on-call rotation for boarding pets requiring care)
• Typical schedule: 4- 5 days/week with rotating Saturdays
• Starting pay: $16.00/hour (based on experience)

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll utilize your experience and knowledge to support our medical team with a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Phlebotomy and catheter placement
• Diagnostic imaging and radiology
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical prep/assisting
• Dentistry and laboratory work
• Medication preparation and fulfillment
• Patient recovery and assessments
• Accurate medical recordkeeping
• Providing compassionate, low-stress care to patients
• Effective communication with clients and team members
