We are a full-service animal hospital offering boarding, daycare, and grooming. We perform specialty services in-house including laparoscopic procedures, ultrasounds, and collaborate with specialists for additional services. Gentle Care Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care, from assisting with outpatient treatments and lab tests to supporting admissions and discharges.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures according to your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
  • Maintain medical records and relevant health histories.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
  • Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong surgical skills, including catheter placement and blood draws.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy setting.
  • Professional demeanor with an outgoing personality.
