Job summary

Wallowa County Chamber's partner veterinary practice in Joseph, Oregon is seeking a reliable veterinary assistant to join a small animal team. You will work daily with dogs and cats, assisting with everything from nail trims to dental cleanings and surgeries, with on-the-job training provided based on experience.

You will learn to restrain pets safely, prepare for procedures, keep the clinic clean, and support staff and clients with a calm, compassionate demeanor.

Qualifications

• Genuine care for animals with patience and gentleness.
• Reliability, good communication, and ability to work as part of a small team.
• Prior animal-handling or veterinary experience is a plus but not required—we will train the right person.
• A good sense of humor is always a plus.

This is a hands-on role working daily with dogs and cats, assisting with procedures from nail trims to dental cleanings and surgery. We will train the right person and starting wage will be based on experience.

Compensation & Details

• Hourly wage based on experience
• PTO accrues after the first 6 months
