Job summary

The Animal Cardiology Center in New York City is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our specialty team. You will support our veterinary cardiologists and technicians in providing top-tier cardiac care to dogs and cats, with a focus on client communication and precise patient history intake.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Excellent client communication and patient intake skills.
• Confident in handling and restraint of companion animals.
• Working knowledge of veterinary terminology.
• Ability to budget time for the team and self.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Adaptable with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work independently, responsibly, and ethically.
• Open to feedback and continuous learning.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate veterinary assistant with an interest in specialty practice. As an Assistant at TACC you will play a critical role in supporting our veterinary cardiologists and Technicians to provide the highest standard of care to the companion animals of New York City and beyond. Confident restraint skills and an acute attention to detail are required in this communication and history intensive environment.

What We Offer:

• $20-$24/hr

• Full time "4 10s" schedule - Four day workweek (Mondays through Thursdays. Shifts start at 8:30a or 10:30a)

What We Require:

• 2+ year experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a clinical environment
• Skilled in client communication and patient intake, including advanced history taking tailored to specialty care needs
• Confident in handling and restraint
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology
• The ability to effectively budget time for you and for the team
• Highly evolved interpersonal skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly communicate with clients as well as team members
• The ability to adapt while maintaining a positive attitude
• The ability to work independently, responsibly, and ethically
• An openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning
