Job description

The Animal Cardiology Center (TACC) is growing on Long Island with a brand-new, purpose-built cardiology clinic in Woodbury. Led by board-certified veterinary cardiologist Dr. Sara Brethel, our team pairs advanced diagnostics and forward-thinking medicine with compassionate, highly personalized care. At TACC, we’re not just redefining what’s possible in veterinary cardiology, we’re setting the standard. As our third location in New York, our upcoming clinic in Woodbury is being built around what matters most: exceptional patient care, a supportive and transparent team culture, and an environment where great people can do their best work. Join us as we raise the standard for specialty cardiac care and deliver world-class medicine with heart.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician with an interest in specialty practice. TACC's newly-built, modern and welcoming facility will ensure you have the tools, technology, and support needed to succeed, grow and thrive, and our mission to transform the veterinary profession's culture of burnout into a happier, healthier place has been rewarding.

This is a wonderful opportunity to use and expand your clinical skills and bodies of knowledge in a unique, specialty environment.

The Licensed Veterinary Technician at TACC is a vital member of the practice management team. This role must be able to effectively lead and supervise by being organized, professional at all times, be an efficient communicator, and work well with veterinarians and other team members, both clinical and administrative. The position is essential in ensuring accurate, efficient and timely completion of daily clinical duties and responsibilities. The Tech also facilitates the flow of communication between doctors, the practice manager and clinical team members. This position also performs all of the duties of a licensed veterinary technician.

In addition to traditional Veterinary Technician duties, you will participate in:

  • Advanced history taking
  • Advanced imaging, including Echocardiograms
  • Conducting physical examinations and patient assessments
  • Rounding with the doctor on cases using learned cardiology knowledge
  • Providing consistently compassionate care for our patients
  • Interested LVTs may have the opportunity to train under the Cardiologist and join the mobile TACC team.
What Makes This Role Unique:

This is a launch position as we open our 3rd TACC location! You will spend your first weeks training, building rapport, and establishing a team workflow before opening a brand new facility. This is a once-in-a-career chance to be a key part of a founding team and you’ll gain unique experience as we expand our state-of-the-art care in a new state. Our target start date for this position is January 18th, 2026.

What We Offer:
  • The pay range for this role is $30 - $37/hr. Additional incentives and compensation available for candidates with a VTS and/or Cardiology specialty experience.
  • Full time "4 10s" four day work week schedule, weekdays only.
  • FSA/HSA
  • Generous paid time off, up to 120 hours of PTO per year
  • 401(k) with a company match
  • Elective benefits through MetLife
  • Discounted pet insurance
  • An organization that offers growth potential, provides support, and nurtures your talents and goals
  • Schedule: Four day workweek, no weekends, no late nights, no on call shifts
Continuing Education:

We're serious about your growth and development. LVTs are eligible to receive unlimited CE reimbursement, including conferences, advanced skills labs, online subscriptions, and even textbooks. You’ll also get 3 fully paid CE days every year to take full advantage of those opportunities without burning your PTO. Want to attend a conference across the country? We’ll help with travel too, covering up to $1,500 annually in related travel expenses. At our hospital, we invest in your future because you're an essential part of ours.

What We Require:
  • Licensed in NY State
  • An affinity for animals
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong people and organizational skills
  • Ability to resolve conflict
  • Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited college or university
Physical requirements of the job:
  • Comfortable working with all types of animals
  • Ability to lift 40lbs
  • Capable of moving patients from carrier/floor to exam table
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time

We provide equal opportunities for everyone who applies to and works for TACC, regardless of age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, race, color, national origin, disability, and all other law-protected considerations that make you, You.
