All About Animals Pet Clinic in Mahomet, IL is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for a full-time role. Starting at $16/hour, with a four-day workweek and hours 7:30 AM–6:00 PM. Join a team that supports veterinarians, technicians, and clients to deliver outstanding care.

You will help with examinations, surgeries, blood collection, radiography, dental care, and patient handling, while maintaining clean, ready spaces and clear communication with clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic.
• Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, digital radiography, dental prophylaxis, restraint, and hospitalized patient care.
• Experience with ezyVet cloud-based software and IDEXX laboratory equipment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
• Provide attentive patient handling, restraint, and care for pets.
• Assist with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, radiography, and dental care as trained.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for the medical team.
• Communicate clearly with clients and reinforce care instructions.

SCHEDULE

Four-day workweek. Weekday availability from 7:30 AM–6:00 PM.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Support veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
• Provide attentive patient handling, restraint, and care for pets.
• Support blood collection, IV catheter placement, digital radiography, and dental care as assigned, within your training and permitted responsibilities.
• Help prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas so the medical team can work efficiently.
• Communicate clearly with clients and reinforce care instructions from the medical team.
• Maintain accurate information and help keep clinical spaces clean, organized, and ready for the next patient.
