Cinco Ranch Veterinary Hospital in Katy, TX is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant who is dependable, compassionate, eager to learn, and ready to be an important part of our team. You will assist veterinary technicians and doctors with daily patient care, exams, and lab work, while helping maintain a clean, safe hospital environment and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in animal care or customer service is a plus; training provided.
• Genuine love for animals and compassionate demeanor.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management.
• Punctual and reliable team player.
• AVImark experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with daily patient care.
• Be a champion for patient care and comfort.
• Assist in restraining pets and preparing for procedures.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Walk, feed, and care for hospitalized and boarding pets.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked hospital environment.
• Assist with venipuncture, vaccines, and medication dispensing.
• Support boarding, grooming, and hospitalized pets.
• Learn and develop veterinary skills under guidance.

What You’ll Do

• Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with daily patient care and medical procedures
• Be a champion for patient care and comfort
• Follows appropriate safety precautions and assist in restraining pets in a manner that allows necessary procedures to be done with minimal stress to patients
• Assist with collecting and preparing laboratory samples as directed
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Walk, feed, and care for hospitalized and boarding pets as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑stocked hospital environment
• Carry out essential skills like venipuncture, vaccine administration, and medication dispensing
• Ensure boarding, grooming, and hospitalized pets feel at home
• Learn and develop veterinary skills under the guidance of our experienced veterinary technicians and doctors
• Be a dependable extra set of hands and a positive presence for the entire veterinary team

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous animal care, veterinary, kennel, or customer service experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right person
• A genuine love and compassion for animals
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
• Is punctual and has excellent time management skills
• A self‑starter with excellent communication and customer service skills
• Possess a good attitude and contribute to a positive work environment
• Strong multitasker with attention to detail
• Positive, ethical, and reliable team player
• AVImark experience is a plus!
