We are searching for a full time1st Shift-Veterinary Assistant (Monday & Tuesday 8:30a-5:00p ET, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00a-5:00p ET) to join our team inGaithersburg, Marylandand become part of the VetRad Experience. This individual will provide support for the VetRad Ultrasound service. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in the healthcare industry and enjoys problem solving, working with people, challenging and fast-paced work environments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Checking in/registering clients
- Checking out/collecting payment from clients
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Assist with keeping inventory
- Obtaining patient physical exam vitals
- Animal handling and restraint with minimal stress to the patient
- Ability to perform/assist with ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- Client communication and answering phones
- Coordinating and scheduling ultrasound appointments
- Obtaining referral records
- Equipment and facilities maintenance
- Performs other duties as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the veterinary profession. Experience in the healthcare and/or veterinary industry is a plus but not required. In addition, this position requires
- 2 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Understand basic computer software
- Strong internet navigational experience and ability to pick up new technology quickly
- Drug testing as required
- Physical requirements: Independently lift and carry animals weighing up to 40 lb, walk for extended periods, Crouch, Kneel, Bend, Stand
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Must have a professional demeanor
- Desire and ability to work around animals (no allergies)
- Detail oriented
- Experience with clinical workflows and processes a plus
- Desire to continue to grow professionally in a rapid growth organization
