Job Summary

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will support our veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to pets while providing exceptional service to pet owners. Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and credentialed veterinary technicians with routine exams, medical procedures, and treatments
• Restrain animals safely and compassionately during exams and procedures
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical suites, ensuring cleanliness and readiness
• Maintain accurate medical records and enter data into veterinary practice software
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under the supervision of a veterinarian or technician
• Monitor animals before, during, and after procedures and communicate changes in behavior or condition
• Educate pet owners on preventive care, including vaccines, nutrition, and at-home treatments
• Support hospital cleanliness, including equipment sterilization and general facility sanitation
• Demonstrate empathy, respect, and professionalism with clients and team members

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred
• Ability to lift and carry animals and equipment up to 40 lbs (heavier lifting with team assistance)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
• Passion for working with animals and a commitment to pet health and wellness
• Willingness to learn and grow through on-the-job training and continuing education
