Assistants should possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, excellent communication, and teamwork skills. As a BoosterPet team member, you will have the opportunity to meet pets and pet parents throughout the Federal Way community to provide wellness care. We are seeking self-motivated, driven individuals who are passionate about advancing veterinary medicine through collaboration, innovation, and excellent service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Playing an active role in the BoosterPet medical team to provide quality medical care and model BoosterPet’s core values
• Being tech-savvy
• Supporting BoosterPet virtual care services
• Completing detailed medical records with thorough medical history and ensuring accuracy within the practice management system
• Educating animal owners
• Completing vitals on behalf of DVMs/veterinary technicians
• Liaising with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure continuity of patient care
• Following all safety protocols to ensure the safety of pets, clients, and team members
• Administering medications and vaccines prescribed by a veterinarian
• Maintaining medication clerk licensure
• Obtaining and verifying medications
• Performing phlebotomy duties and providing intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV), and subcutaneous (SQ) injections
• Restraining pets appropriately to minimize stress and ensure safety
• Assisting at the front desk/kiosk and greeting clients/patients
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments

Requirements:

Experience preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals with a positive attitude. A Medication Clerk license is preferred but can be obtained if not currently held. Flexibility and adaptability are valued to help our growing company succeed in both traditional and innovative ways.
