BluePearl Pet Hospital in Farmington, MI is seeking an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Assistant to join our team. You will provide nursing care to stable patients, perform discharge calls, educate clients, and assist clinicians with examinations and diagnostics in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Discharge, perform call backs and refill medications.
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician.
• Perform physical exam; check vital signs and basic parameters.
• Understand normal vital parameters.
• Comfortable with IV catheter placement and venipuncture.
• Set up intravenous fluids and operate fluid pumps, troubleshooting as needed.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics.

As a Neurology Veterinary Assistant , you will:

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• Discharge, perform call backs and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• Set up intravenous fluids.
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
