Shawnee Animal Clinic is a growing, family-oriented practice with wonderful clients. We currently have eight doctors of veterinary medicine and over sixty support staff between our hospital, grooming facility, and boarding and training facility. Our team is like our family, and we are looking for individuals who are self-starters, have a willingness to learn, and can multi-task in a fast-paced veterinary hospital.
Job Description
Job duties include, but are not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, and surgical preparation and assistance.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications
We’re looking for:
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time.
Ability to be confident around animals (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.).
Client needs and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week, including weekends, evenings, or holidays.
Must have the mental capacity for reasoning, memory, mathematics, and language skills (English).
The environment has a moderately high noise level; ear plugs are available.
Sufficient ambulatory skills are required to perform duties.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity are necessary.
Exposure to animals that may bite, kick, scratch, and to hazards like anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications is possible.
